The Third Sector

At New Futures Network, we are proud to work with a range of charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups. We believe that collaboration with the Third Sector is essential to unlocking opportunities for people in prison and on release.

Our partnerships with Third Sector organisations help to reduce reoffending, support rehabilitation, and create meaningful pathways into employment and training.

Representatives from the Third Sector are also part of many Employment Advisory Boards (EABs). They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Boards in shaping the employment offer in prisons.

Why the Third Sector matters

Third sector organisations play a crucial role in supporting people in custody and after release. Through mentoring, skills development, resettlement support and job readiness training, they help people in prison build a new path forward. Our EABs and Employment Hubs are key platforms for engagement. If you are a Third Sector organisation looking to join an EAB or would like to offer support, please contact the relevant prison directly.

Clinks

Clinks is the sector body for criminal justice charities. It supports, promotes and represents the voluntary sector working with people in the criminal justice system and their families, and offers a Directory of Services listing hundreds of voluntary and community organisations which offer support, including employment.

We work with Clinks and the Reducing Reoffending Third Sector Advisory Group to ensure the voice of the sector is heard at a national level.

Working Chance

Working Chance is the UK’s only employment charity solely for women with convictions. Working Chance support the women to develop the confidence, self-belief, and skills they need to succeed in the world of work and get their life on track while offering guidance on hiring people with convictions. We work closely with Working Chance to help improve employment outcomes for women.
